About Me

A get acquainted message

Having been interested in automobiles since age fourteen when I purchased my first car..I have now after all these years elected to chronicle my knowledge and experiences. Over the past 56 years I have gained more automotive knowledge each year of my life.

My first job at a small dealership in the service department began my career and provided training at GM Training Centers. I remember Mr. George Herman of Columbiana Buick-Olds meeting me at a career day at my high school and hiring me. To him I owe my start in the automobile business. Having a high mechanical aptitude..shortly after high school I went to work in the auto parts distribution business for the early years of my working years. Starting as a delivery driver and working my way up to branch manager. In the early 1960's drag racing came into vogue and I became involved immediately. By 1962 working two jobs I built and raced a 1962 Pontiac Tin Indian limited edition to a national record.

This success launched my name into national prominence. In 1963 I was paid a visit by Mr. Lee Iaccoca, then a regional representative of Ford Motor Co. After a trip to Dearborn, Michigan for an interview at Ford headquarters I began to "think". Why is Detroit coming to me? Given much thought and research it was my racing successes.

As time passed I was offered a central office position with Pontiac Motor Division of GM.  I accepted and went to work for Mr. John Delorean who to this day I respect.  In my mind there were only a very few "true car men" in history.  Namely Henry Ford, William Durant, John Delorean,Carroll Shelby, and Lee Iaccoca.  I am privileged to have met and read about all of their lives.

My years as a district manager for Pontiac permitted me to gain business knowledge and acumen not available to many. The successes I attained in the years 1965-1972 launched my later years as a car dealer, advisor, and technical consultant.

By the early 1970's a new technology came into the mainstream...Computers!
My education and interest began anew.  Here in my home office I have spent untold hours experimenting, learning, teaching IT skills. After 40 years tommorrow I retire hoping to share with you weekly here all the knowledge I have gained.
